Asian stock markets drop Tuesday

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Asian equities ended lower on the day, continuing a two-day slide Tuesday. Even the Japanese market, propped up by the recent action surround the BoJ, has taken a breather, incurring modest losses.

Beginning with the indices and composites, the Shanghai fell -1.11% as it settles in region of 2217.91, down -24.91 points in these moments. In addition, the Nikkei 225 is trading in negative territory, operating at 14758.42, contracting -23.79 points or -0.16% at the time of writing. Finally, the Hang Seng Index has edged lower today, trading in the zone of 23990.38, presently -0.26% after a movement of -59.53 points.

Moving to commodities the prices of gold and silver are trading at USD $1438.44 and $23.68 per oz. respectively. Moreover, the price of crude is operating at USD $95.12/bbl Tuesday.

The yellow metal rally was capped at the 1438 region (intraday high), before experiencing a staunch paring of gains on the day, which dragged prices back to the 1438 level – indeed in these moments the price of gold has now settled at USD $1438.24 per oz. during European trading. This move comes in conjunction with yesterday’s pullback, in which gold had ended the trading session lower yesterday below 1440.00 support level.
