Sakura report: BOJ cuts the economic assessment on 3 of Japan's 9 regions

The Bank of Japan (BOJ) released its latest monthly Sakura (economic assessment) report, downgrading the economic assessment on 3 out of 9 regions.

Key Details:

The BOJ slashed the current economic assessment for the Tohoku, Hokuriku, and Kyushu-Okinawa regions.

Assessment for the Hokkaido region has been upgraded (modestly recovering after the earthquake last year).

Assessment for the other five regions are left unchanged.
