USD/TRY drops sharply on reports of Turkey releasing pastor Brunson

Reports of Turkey planning to release the U.S. pastor Brunson on August 15 forced the USD/TRY pair to drop sharply from 7.02 to 6.66. However, Turkish news outlets haven't yet confirmed these claims and the pair quickly recovered back to 6.92, where it was up more than 8% on the day.
